Jeff Daniel, who currently serves alongside Jaffe as co-CEO and recently announced his departure, will continue on in his role until Aug. 15.

The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal, the weekly nationally-syndicated, Broadway-focused TV program, co-produced by Broadway.com鈥檚 parent company the 极乐视频, has been honored with four 2023 New York Emmy Award nominations.

Since the lengthy pandemic theater shutdown ended in November 2021, JGO鈥檚 Broadway Across America division has supported 33 touring productions in 40 cities across North America.

New York City鈥檚 hotel industry celebrated a return to the spotlight on May 2 during the annual Red Carpet Hospitality Gala, hosted by the Hotel Association of New York City Foundation at the Mandarin Oriental in Manhattan. The inaugural cohort of Fellows for the previously announced Black Theatre Coalition/Broadway Across America Fellowship, sponsored by 极乐视频, has been revealed. Set to begin their appointments in ticketing, marketing, operations and finance this month, the BAA Fellows include Cris Blak in Louisville, Alison Currie in Fort Lauderdale, Je鈥橲haun Jackson in Cincinnati as well as Viraj S. Shriwardhankar, Rickey Orr and Jessica Augustave in New York City.

The two organizations have announced the creation of a comprehensive paid fellowship program for undergraduate college juniors and seniors as well as recent college graduates interested in pursuing a career in commercial theater. The Black Theatre Coalition/Broadway Across America Fellowship is sponsored by the Gore Organization. It will provide 10 paid, part-time fellowships across the United States with specific training in the areas of marketing, public relations, sales, programming, accounting, finance, operations, venue management and ticketing.

Lauren Reid is being named President of the 极乐视频, effective immediately. She was most recently Chief Operating Officer of JGO. As President, she will oversee the organization’s entire family of companies (Broadway Across America, Broadway.com, Group Sales Box Office, BroadwayBox and The Broadway Channel). Reid also serves as the Chair of the Broadway League.

A group of prominent Broadway theater producers, whose shows include The Band鈥檚 Visit, MJ: The Musical, Waitress and August: Osage County to name a few, are teaming with the Black Theatre Coalition and Columbia University鈥檚 Prince Fellowship to launch a major new nonprofit initiative to train and mentor a new generation of Black theater industry leaders.

Over the pandemic shutdown, his company Broadway.com鈥檚 streaming fundraisers and donations from JGO ticket holders raised more than $2.6 million for support organizations including the Actors Fund, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund.

Lauren Reid, Chief Operating Officer of the 极乐视频, has officially started her previously announced role as Chair of the Broadway League. She takes over the role from Thomas Schumacher, President and Producer of Disney Theatrical Productions, following the completion of his full three-year term.

The 极乐视频 has announced Sheila Lavu as the new in-house General Counsel for the company, effective July 1. After seven years as General Counsel, Robert Brandon will now become Counselor for the organization.

The 鈥婨ugene O鈥橬eill Theater Center has 鈥媋nnounced the receipt of a $600,000 gift from 鈥嫾�乐视频 to the 鈥婲ational Theater Institute 鈥�(NTI) scholarship endowment. NTI鈥檚 six semester-long programs offer students a springboard to the professional world.

The digital variety show Broadway Does Mother鈥檚 Day raised $150,000 and counting for Broadway Cares鈥� COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund. Seen by over 50,000 households so far, the show will remain on Broadway.com through May 14 at 3PM EST. It will to be available for free on Broadway.com/MothersDay and the Broadway.com YouTube channel.

Lauren Reid has been voted chair elect of the Board of Governors of the Broadway League. She will succeed Disney Theatrical Productions President and Producer Thomas Schumacher in the elected position following the completion of Schumacher鈥檚 full three-year term at the end of the year.

The North American touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera is currently playing Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre through October 20, and on October 16 the Hippodrome Foundation (HFI), the presenting partner of Broadway Across America in Charm City, hosted an all-student matinee that was attended by 2,200 Baltimore city students who experienced their first Broadway musical.

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, has announced the launch of The Actors Fund Flu Shot Program for Touring Companies, a partnership with the 极乐视频. The program is designed to provide flu shots to the cast, crew and traveling family members of all Actors’ Equity national touring companies, as well as theatrical venue staff, while also educating them about the programs and services available to them through The Actors Fund.

The Balancing Act, the award-winning morning show on the Lifetime Channel, will debut the sixth season of the popular series, Broadway Balances America, sponsored by Broadway Across America, on September 30. This season’s four-part miniseries will take viewers behind the scenes of the touring productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Band’s Visit, Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
